VPP: The Best of the Best!
Continental Building Systems is proud to be the first Columbus-based contractor to earn Star Status in OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) for the state of Ohio.
According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), “VPP is the most prestigious workplace safety and health recognition program in the United States and VPP approval is OSHA’s official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health.”
Continental achieved VPP Status in 2008 following a comprehensive evaluation of our safety and health management systems by OSHA’s local, regional and national personnel. The evaluation included documentation review, interviews with CBS management, employees and subcontractors, and a week-long audit process of the corporate office and various construction sites.
In addition to achieving VPP Star Status for all of Ohio, Continental was honored with this same recognition on a site-specific basis for the construction of the new CONSOL Energy Headquarters in the Pittsburgh area.
